Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a great holiday season and new year! I just wanted to check in with a couple quick updates:
Production - Your size and color selections have been processed and forwarded to our suppliers. Everything on the manufacturing side is proceeding according to plan.
Surveys - A small number of you haven't yet filled out the surveys, please fill this out once you get the chance so we know exactly how many of each size and color to fulfill.
That's all for now. Any questions on this or anything else, just let me know.
Thanks!
John
Surveys Are Coming Soon

Hi everyone,
Now that the campaign has been over for two weeks and funds are about to be released, I wanted to give you all an update regarding the next steps for this project. Very soon you’ll receive an email from us with a link to your BackerKit survey. When you receive the email, go ahead and click the survey link to respond. You'll answer questions about your reward preferences, shipping information, and you'll be able to purchase add-on items if you like.
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please message me and let me know.
I'll also be setting up a dedicated support email in the next couple of days. Once that's live I'll post it in an update, and all questions / comments / concerns can be sent to that email. We want this process to go as smoothly as possible so we'll be available at all times over email to answer any questions you might have.
That's all for now, and you'll receive an email with the survey link within a day or two!
Thanks,
John
We're Funded!

Hi everyone,
We did it! Our campaign took in just over $83K in pledges, more than enough to put both the 42 mm and 38 mm Kerrison watches into production.
Over the next week or two, we'll be reaching out to all of you with backer surveys. Among other things we'll be collecting your shipping addresses, as well as your choice regarding the size and color of the watch that you would like. In the meantime you can always reach out to me by posting a comment or a direct message on Kickstarter.
As soon as the Kickstarter funds are released to me, I'll be putting down a production deposit with my suppliers to get the process started. I'm in regular contact with my suppliers and they've been following this campaign, so they know exactly what they have to produce and they're ready to get started very soon. I'll post regular updates on production status and any other relevant information so that all of you are well informed on everything leading right up to delivery of your watches.
Lastly and most importantly, I want to give a big thanks to all of you who helped make this happen. Without your backing this project would not be moving forward, thanks so much for the support and I can't wait to deliver your watches!
Best,
John
Lume / Leather Straps / Misc

Hi everyone,
We’re now in the last week of the campaign and so I wanted to follow up on a few outstanding items:
1) Lume On the Dial
After deliberating on this and speaking with my supplier a number of times, I’ve decided not to put lume on the dial. I don’t think it’s a good idea to move forward without having lumed prototypes made in advance, which isn’t possible at this point without delaying the project. And based on these conversations it sounds like the lume would likely impact the aesthetics of the watch in daylight which is something I definitely want to avoid.
Of course I hope you will all still love the watch without lume! Please know that I consciously designed it without lume in mind and in my personal opinion this is the right execution. Please message me if you have any more questions or concerns about this and I can address it further.
2) Additional Leather Straps
Several of you have asked about getting additional leather straps to go with your watches. During the post-campaign period we’ll be following up with each of you to get your choice of watch size and colorway, and during that time you can also select additional leather straps. For backers we’re going to make the straps available for $35 compared to the $65 retail price. All available colors (8 in total) will be available.
3) Another Project I Endorse - A Minimal Mechanical Pencil
I came across another very cool project that I think you all might be interested in. I never thought a mechanical pencil would catch my eye, but this product is very well executed and appeals to me in much the same way a well-designed watch does. This is the creator’s second version of the pencil, so he’s well versed with the product and has included a number of upgrades to the previous version. Link is below:

4) Reminder - Affiliate Link Through Kickbooster
Just a reminder that we have created an affiliate link that will help reward you for spreading the word about this project. Sign up as a booster through the link below, and you’ll receive 10% of any pledges you help generate. Valid for new pledges only. Link is below:

If you have any more questions on this campaign, please don’t hesitate to post a comment or message me, and I’ll get back to you as quickly as I can.
Thank you!

A Lot Of Updates - 38 MM Size, Affiliate Link, Lume, Leather Straps
over 8 years ago

Hi everyone,
I have a lot of news to share on the campaign, please have a look below:
1) Stretch Goal #1 (38 MM Size) Has Been Reached
Very happy to let you know that we’ve surpassed the $65K needed to release a 38 mm version of the Kerrison! I’ve updated the campaign page with photos of this version for each colorway. A few notes on this size:
In almost every way the 38 mm offering is a scaled down version of the 42 mm version, but there are two exceptions:
i) The lugs (two pieces on each end of the case that attach to the strap) are noticeably thinner on this version, giving the case a bit more of a dressy/elegant look. This thinner lug design is meant to go along with the more understated feel of the smaller case.
ii) This version of the watch uses the same movement (Miyota 9015) as the 42 mm version, and the distance from the center of the movement to the date calendar remains the same on both. In order to accommodate this, look closely and you’ll see that we eliminated the small minute/second numeral ’30’ since it overlapped with the date window.
In addition, because I wanted to get the photos up on the page immediately, I have not yet spent time retouching the colors on the 38 mm version. To the extent that you notice any small discrepancies in color (mainly on the second hands) between the two versions, please use the 42 mm size as your guide. Ultimately the colorways for both sizes will be identical.
2) Affiliate Link Through Kickbooster
For those of you interested in helping to spread the word about this campaign, I’ve created an affiliate link that will help reward you for it. Sign up as a booster through the link below, and you’ll receive 10% of any pledges you help generate.

3) Adding Lume To The Dial & Hands
A number of you have suggested this and I’m trying to make it happen. I’m still going back and forth with my supplier on this issue, which is taking some time to sort out. Since the watch was designed without lume in mind, I need to be sure that I can execute this at a very high level and without affecting the appearance of the watch in daylight. I will have more clarity on this within the next 2-3 days. As long as I can be assured of this level of execution, I plan on moving forward with the lume.
4) Additional Choice Leather Straps
In the previous update I mentioned that I would be offering additional leather strap colors, and those are all up on the campaign page now for you to check out. The original options will still be available, so there are now 8 leather strap options for you to choose in total.
That's all for now, but I'll be in touch soon! Any further questions or comments, just let me know.
Best,
John
