The Martenero Kerrison: A Mechanical Watch, Modern & Classic

Created by John Tarantino

Martenero's sixth watch release is the Kerrison. Our most versatile watch yet, equally at home in the office or out on the weekends. Its clean, balanced design comes alive through subtle details and uses of color. Everything is designed in-house, and we labored over every detail to get the balance just right. This is a watch that stands out just the right amount - a watch of subtle distinction you can wear for years on end. And it's not just the design that makes it special. The Kerrison has an automatic movement that registers at 28,800 beats per hour, scratch-resistant sapphire crystals on the front and back, and a 42-hour power reserve. Serious specs that match the thoughtfulness of the design. The Kerrison is available in 4 unique colorways, each in 2 different sizes (42 mm and 38 mm). 8 different versions available in total so that you can find the version that's perfect for you.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Thank You / Stretch Goal #1
over 8 years ago – Tue, Nov 07, 2017 at 05:14:00 AM

Hi everyone,

Let me begin by saying thank you! We got off to a great start in the first couple of days and I have all of you to thank for that.

We hit our goal on the first day, ensuring that this collection will go into production. And now that we're well ahead of our initial goal, I've been thinking about some stretch goals for this campaign. So here's our first one:

Stretch Goal #1 - 38 mm Watches

A lot of you have been asking if we would be offering a smaller size of the Kerrison, and in response I'm happy to say that if we hit $100,000 in pledges, we'll move forward with a production run of 38 mm pieces. Same design, same colors, just in a 38 mm case (with a 47 mm lug to lug).

I already have prototypes in this size, so this won't result in any changes to the production timeline. I'll be adding photos of the 38 mm version to the campaign page in the next day or two. I’m also going to think about additional stretch goals, keeping your feedback in mind.

Please comment or message me with any further questions or comments, your feedback really will help make this campaign as strong as possible. I'll respond to any comments as quickly as I can.

Thanks!

Stretch Goal #1 Threshold / Additional Leather Strap Options
over 8 years ago – Sat, Nov 04, 2017 at 08:46:11 AM

Hi everyone,

I wanted to check in with you all and address a few questions that have come up in the last few days:

Stretch Goal #1 - Lower Threshold

A number of you have pointed out that the threshold for stretch goal #1 (offering an additional 38 mm size) seems too high, and after looking at this again I think you're probably right. For a bit of explanation, I put in a conservative number for this goal since it's a big addition - producing two different sized watches involves an additional production run with a minimum order quantity of several hundred pieces. After looking at the numbers again though, I really don't need $100K to do it and so I'm lowering this threshold to $65K. At the time of this writing we're only $100 short of this, so the next pledge we get will lock in the 38 mm option!

Additional Choice - Leather Straps

Several of you have also asked about additional color straps, and I'm happy to expand the offerings to additional colors as follows:

Off white, light brown, medium brown, red, and oxblood straps will all be available. These options will be in addition to the straps currently shown in the pictures (blue/gray, dark brown, and black). Between these eight options, there should be something for everybody. I'll get photos of the additional straps up on the page soon for reference. And you don't have to do anything right now - once the campaign ends, we'll coordinate with each of you individually to make sure you have the color, size, and strap color that suits you best.

That's all for now, but I'll be in touch regularly both with updates as well as responding to questions and comments. Keep the feedback coming, it's helpful and I'm trying to incorporate it as much as I can.

Thanks!

John
